CHEAKAITY
DMV native Cheakaity (Cha-Keh-taye) is an alchemist : blending soul, groove, funk, and swagger into his own unique flavor. Born into his father’s church, Cheakaity discovered his love for music at a very young age after hearing West African gospel music played by the worship team. He began playing the drums by the age of 4, singing by age 8, playing keyboard by age 12, and producing beats at age 16. His sound is rooted in gospel and soul music but has a range of styles from hip hop to alternative rock. He sites Michael Jackson, Kanye West ,Radiohead, and Coldplay as major influences. If you enjoy artists such as Prince , Anderson. Paak, and André 3000 , you might find it easy to become of fan of Cheakaity.

Kingpen Slim
Born to West Indian parents in DC, this first-generation American has been involved with music from his inception. Nephew to King Ellie Matt, the legendary Calypsonian from St Kitts who still holds the record for being crowned Soca Monarch at the country's Carnival 14 times, excellence is in his bloodline. Hearing dancehall in the house, go-go in the streets while simultaneously growing up in the hip-hop era gave him a multitude of influences that you can still hear in his music today.
Shon Ski
Shon Ski is an alternative hip-hop and r&b artist, audio engineer, and published musician from East Baltimore, MD. Her career began in 2016 as a media personality on Strong Wav Radio, located in the heart of Baltimore. Shon Ski soon became an emergent artist in 2017, performing unreleased music throughout the DMV. As 2018 approached, Shon Ski created "Run N Wild Radio" which aired on the 1500 Radio network; highlighting creatives across mediums throughout the DMV area Shon Ski has continued progress in her music career over the years, which led to the release of her first single, "Double Water", produced by Madi. Her debut album Somewhere Out There (prod. Bari Lutalo), was released March 29, 2022 under Tenable Music. Shon Ski can currently be found on all DSPs and media platforms under "Shon Ski"
Tokyo Yaw
Tokyo Yaw is a U.S.A.-based, Ghanaian recording artist, songwriter, and producer. His music is an eclectic fusion of rap, pop, neo-soul, rock, afro-pop, and jazz elements, transmuting life experiences into songs in a world that refuses definition. In 2008, while in high school at Church Farm boarding school, Yaw began writing raps as a form of expression. Over the years he has performed at many notable venues as he shares his music with the world. Most recently, Yaw has been selected as one of the premiere artists for the House Party Immersive Tour. Yaw’s music blends real-world experiences, political thought, community activism, carefree braggadocios raps, and sweet melodies. Yaw has a melting pot sound that embodies the true spirit of America.

Kendall Patton
Kendall Patton, a 23-year-old underground hip-hop artist from Laurel, MD, with roots in Huntsville, AL, is the founder of the DMV collective Broken KRWN and a member of Tha Heavyweights. Starting his rap career at 13 in 2014, he gained a reputation for lyricism and storytelling. His discography includes early tracks like “Dirty Secrets” (2019) and recent works such as “Jedi Rap Sh¡t,” reflecting his artistic growth. Influenced by icons like 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Prodigy, as well as local peers like Raff Alpha and Benjo, Patton is establishing himself in the underground hip-hop scene.
Naomie The Songbird
Naomie the Songbird from Dover, Delaware, is an emerging alternative artist who began her musical journey at age 9. Early performances in school talent shows and church choirs fueled her passion. This year marks a milestone as she releases her original music. Naomie's eclectic style embraces diverse influences, with a focus on inspirational music. She aims to create songs that entertain and promote change within the black and brown community. Her dedication to her craft and community makes her an artist to watch as she evolves and inspires.

NAI has continued to progress her music career by releasing singles, albums, music videos. Ramsey Renée
Ramsey Renée is a 17-year-old Singer/Songwriter/Musician from Washington, DC, who has been singing, writing, and playing piano since age 9. She made her performance debut as the opening act during the 2015 Runway Mom’s for a Cause, fashion fundraising event; the youngest artist to ever open the event.
In July 2019, Ramsey released her first single, Love is a Game, followed by her second highly anticipated single, It’s Wrong (Loving You) in December 2019. Teonna the Queen
Teonna the Queen is an influential artist in the DMV area and a native of Prince George's County. In less than a year, she released her first EP, A.R.T., to honor her business, A Reality Transformed. It's all a training ground for the destined purpose "to build community by sharing creativity and passion for growing and working knowledge of the gifts we're all given."
In this last year, Teonna has been a featured artist at the legendary SOB’s in NYC, AV Sessions Open Mic, EarFuxk 2, DC Art All Night, a final contestant in Made in the DMV/Broccoli City’s search for performers, and co-founder of Thee Collective Media, curators of “Cuffing Season” and Thee Sidewalk Sessions. Her recent releases include “Bag Lady”, “Pleasure”, and “Nostalgia” along with an official music video.
BrassiousMonk
Hailing from Raleigh, NC; BrassiousMonk, the self-proclaimed, “Keepah of the Flame”, is a skilled producer, rapper, and songwriter. Monk’s family originated on both coasts; his mother from Brooklyn, NY, and father from LA. Due to this fortunate culture-shock, his music and style influences were broadened at a young age. Mom, she was bumping Anita Baker, Sade, and Shirley Caesar; big sweaters and nikes. While Pops, he was on Pac, stand up comedy tapes, and Funkadelic; leather and chucks. All that makes for quite the gumbo pot. Not to mention the influence of his older siblings' musical tastes. All these influences mixed wonderfully together to form the “monk with more funk for ya trunk” himself.
